Studio Photography Tip – Using A 22 Inch Beauty Dish And A Slightly Shallow Depth of Field

You can scroll down below the image to see the details on how I shot the image below:

Joyce

22 Inch Beauty Dish and 640WS Einstein - Both From Paul C. Buff

Basic Overview Below Of How This Was Shot:

...I Was Standing On Step Stool For Angle
...2 Brolly Boxes - One Left - One Right - For Side Lighting
...2 Inexpensive 180WS Strobes For The 2 Brolly Boxes
...70-200mm Canon f/2.8 Set F/5.6
...Canon 5D Mark III - 100 ISO
...Pocket Wizards To Trigger Strobes
...Paul C. Buff 640WS Einstein Strobe
...Kupos C -Stand With Boom Arm
...22 Inch Beauty Dish With Soft Cover
...53 Inch Savage Super White Background Made Slightly Gray In Post
...Subject Was About 4 feet From Background

Do the best you can with the equipment that you own or have access to. A prime lens will likel yield better results than a kit lens. But other than that, most of the rest of this can be shot with alternative options to what I used above. No, you don't have to shoot it with a FULL Frame Pro Body. No, you don't have to have an Einstein Strobe.  etc. etc.
