Photography Marketing Plan 2016 – It’s Week One – What Are You Doing?

Marketing Plan

What Is Marketing?
Marketing is defined as the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.

Do You have A Plan?
If you don't have a marketing plan for 2016 on this first Monday of the new year, you are already behind. You should have hit the ground running on the first workday of the new year. But don't be discouraged. It's not too late. It's only workday #1 of 2016.

Stop Making Excuses!
Sure, people are just getting back to work and you don't want to bother them with an email or cold call. That's fine! You should find other things that are productive in your marketing that can make a difference. Crank up your social media plan by more than just a post on your Facebook business page which no one hardly sees without paying Facebook some money or write a blog post. I will be pushing blog posts a lot in 2016 because it's a relatively easy way for you to write about what you do then easily share the post on social media. If you are behind on your 2016 marketing plan, STOP READING this post and write down 5 to 10 things that you want to focus on in 2016 and then start doing them.

You Have To Embrace Marketing
Like it or not, marketing has to be a part of your photography business. You have to take action in areas to promote your business whether that is social media, cold calling, attending networking event or something else that you want to put your time, energy and even money into, you have to move not sit and hope.

All the planning in the world does ZERO good if you don't act on your marketing plan. It takes action to make things happen, so ACT NOW! Don't wait until tomorrow or next week. DO IT TODAY! Take some form of action every workday to improve your business. FYI, a Facebook business post is not enough to propel your business unless you get lucky.

Quick Bonus Tip For Photographers: This blog post is about 400 words and only took a few minutes to write. If you are not blogging, it may be worth your time to write a post per week. There is no guarantee that it will propel your business to new heights. But I do have a guarantee for you, if you don't write blog posts, you'll never know.
