One of the many definitions of Edgy is simply UNCONVENTIONAL. Although all of my headshot photography is not the traditional style, traditional is often what business professionals are seeking when they need to update their LinkedIn profile. However, the image below is just one of my many examples of being edgy (UNCONVENTIONAL) with my photography style yet professional. Not everyone would want to use an image like the one below in a professional profile, but it can work in certain circumstances. It is definitely an UNCONVENTIONAL style headshot.
Edgy is really defined by the person being photographed because an UNCONVENTIONAL headshot is not the same for everyone. Some may think of UNCONVENTIONAL (edgy) being as simple as the horizontal style headshots that I shoot on a white background or the around the office headshots at a desk or even an image of someone in their office, smiling and not looking at the camera, like the business professional below:
How do you define edgy? What is UNCONVENTIONAL to you when it comes to your headshot? Whatever your definition is and whether you want a traditional headshot, an edgy headshot or both, it should be easy to have that conversation with the photographer that you are considering hiring for your headshot.
In my case, I have literally photographed thousands of people (yes, plural) individually. There will not be an example of every scenario on my website. However, with my experience level or any seasoned professional photographer that photographs people individually on a regular basis, it should only take a few examples of what you like and some conversation in advance to be able to get the end result you are after.
I love working with people on an individual basis and capturing the best of a person as an individual. If you want edgy, simply share with me how you define edgy and we can work together to get what you need.
